406 A BICENTENNIAL HISTORY OF MISSISSIPPI JACINTO Serving as one of the best examples of Early Federalist architectural style, the Jacinto Courthouse once served “Old Tishomingo” County. Jacinto was a large and prosperous town before the Civil War, but Reconstruction and the division of “Old Tishomingo” caused many residents to leave the town. The Jacinto Courthouse has been restored as a museum. PHOTO BY GREG CAMPBELL
