Previous Study Groups

The Business Reform Study Groups established by the Secretary of State since 2008 have addressed pressing issues concerning corporate law, debtor and creditor law, economic development, intellectual property, land use, nonprofit and charitable organizations, public finance, rural water associations, securities, tax, trademarks, and trusts and estates. The study groups also have examined the potential creation of a specialized state-court docket for business cases. Over 20 legislative proposals recommended by the Study Groups have been enacted into law. Follow the links on the right side of the page to find more information on past study groups.
