Voter ID Wins Prestigious National Award

Jackson, MS—The national 35th Annual Telly Awards have announced the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Voter ID commercials were awarded two of their national awards.  The commercials received a Bronze Telly in the Political Issues/Campaign Advertising Category and a Bronze Telly in the Public Service Category.  Only silver and bronze honors are awarded.

“Mississippi has received two national awards for a voting campaign,” says Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.  “Regardless of your views and opinions on Voter ID, our goal was to educate and engage all citizens of our State in a light-hearted and entertaining way.  Our State has now been recognized nationally for our efforts.”

The ads were created by the Cirlot Agency, which also created the Mississippi…Believe It! campaign.  The Cirlot Agency is a Mississippi company.

"Great work starts with a client who trusts you enough to step out of their comfort zone. We certainly found that to be the case with Secretary Hosemann,” adds Rick Looser, COO of the Cirlot Agency.  “We are ecstatic our collaborative effort with the Secretary of State's office won two Telly's, but I am more pleased we created a memorable campaign which educates Mississippi voters on the changes in our election laws."

Over 12,000 entries were submitted to the 35th Annual Telly Awards from all fifty (50) states.  Other awards winners include:  Under Armour, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Johnson & Johnson, Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket, NBC Universal, Warner Brothers, and Sony Pictures Television.
