Secretary Hosemann Announces Chairs/Co-Chairs of Business Law Reform

Jackson, MS—Acting on a campaign promise, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is actively pursuing comprehensive business law reform by forming study groups to focus on the following categories: Business Courts, Corporations, Securities, LLCs & Partnerships, Charities & Non-Profit Organizations, and Trademarks.  Committee members will be appointed by the end of May.  Meetings of the study groups are open to the public.  Final recommendations from the individual groups will be presented to the State Legislature.

“We want to envision where Mississippi should be 10, 20, even 50 years from now,” says Secretary Hosemann.  “We have everything needed to lure companies into our State—easily accessible waterways, dependable power systems, and most importantly, a trainable, enthusiastic workforce.  These study groups will look at how we can promote a more business friendly environment in our State.”
