Secretary Watson Joins NASS in #TrustedInfo2022 Voter Education Effort

JACKSON --- Ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, Secretary of State Michael Watson joins fellow members of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) in the #TrustedInfo2022 education effort to encourage citizens to look to their state and local election officials as the trusted sources of election information.

“Unfortunately, election misinformation and disinformation is becoming more common, especially online," said Secretary Watson. "Our office works closely with local election officials to ensure Mississippians have easy access to accurate election information at all times. From voter registration to election procedures and everything in between, be sure to verify all election information with our office or your local Municipal or Circuit Clerk's Office."

The Elections & Voting tab of our website is a trusted source for certified election results, active voter count reports, campaign finance reports and other statewide election information. Additionally, our Y'all Vote website features a variety of credible resources, such as a detailed 2022 Elections Calendar, a portal to verify your voter registration status, and contact information for municipal and county election officials.

In addition to supporting #TrustedInfo2022, Secretary Watson is actively pushing legislation regarding election security. The proposed bills focus on critical issues such as post-election audits and proof of citizenship. Follow our Facebook or Twitter pages for updates throughout the 2022 Legislative Session.
