Secretary Michael Watson Announces 2025-2026 SOS Student Ambassadors
JACKSON, Miss. – After a competitive application process, Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson is proud to announce the 2025-2026 class of Secretary of State Student Ambassadors.
The Student Ambassador Program equips high school seniors with the knowledge and resources to engage as leaders within their schools and communities. This year's group of Ambassadors consists of 74 students from 55 schools in 28 counties across all four congressional districts.
"We are so excited about this class of Student Ambassadors. Since the program's inception, we have seen tremendous growth and its impact on Mississippi's young leaders. Investing in and mentoring our future generations remains one of our most important public services and one of my favorite initiatives," said Secretary Michael Watson.

Primary components of the Student Ambassador program include two in-person summits in Jackson. Sessions during the summits emphasize voting and elections, the study of Mississippi's legislative process, and training on how to organize and facilitate voter registration drives on their school campuses and in their communities.
Ambassadors are also introduced to the numerous educational and employment opportunities which abound in Mississippi. Through monthly virtual meetings, participants are able to ask questions and share ideas about the future of Mississippi with national, state, and local leaders.
