​A qualified elector and a resident of the Supreme Court district in which he/she seeks election for five (5) years immediately preceding the day of the election. Miss. Code Ann. §65-1-3.
Political Party Candidates submit a Statement of Intent and a qualifying fee as set forth in the Candidate Qualifying Guide to the appropriate executive party.

Independen​t Candidates file a Statement of Intent, petition containing signatures of not less than 300 qualified electors of district, and a $500 qualifying fee paid to the Secretary of State’s Office.
