A qualified  elector  for and from the  Supreme  Court  District  in  which election is sought (residency), at least 30 years of age, a practicing attorney, and a citizen of the state for five years immediately preceding the election.  Miss. Const. of 1890, Art. 6, §§145, 145-A, 145-B and 150.

Non-Partisan Judicial Candidates file a Statement of Intent, Affidavit of Judicial Candidate and a $200 qualifying fee to the Secretary of State's Office.
