The Secretary of State formed the Public Finance Laws Study Group in June 2011 to review Mississippi’s public finance laws. The Group was composed of business leaders, bankers, financial advisors, lawyers and legislators from across the State. The Group’s primary objective was to recommend changes to the Public Improvement District Act.
The Public Finance Laws Study Group recommended a legislative proposal to amend the Public Improvement District Act. That proposal was introduced in the Mississippi Legislature in 2012.
