As part of the ongoing effort to improve Mississippi probate statutes, the Probate Code Study Group was formed to consider the impact of nonprobate transfers, transfer on death deeds, abatement, fiduciary transfer of negotiable paper, adoption of the current version of the Uniform Tax Apportionment Act, inherited IRAs as exempt property, and creditor protection for Intervivos QTIP trusts, among other issues.
